My good friend Dave put this song on a mixtape for me about five years ago, and I couldn’t figure out whether or not it was joke — I thought these guys were a sort of rock-y English version of They Might Be Giants or something.
I asked Chip, and not only was he into them, but he said they were playing the Roxy in only a couple of months. “We should go,” he said. So we did. And it was one of the most fun shows I’ve ever seen! I think they’re serious about the joke, if that makes sense.
