I was in England when this single came out 10 years ago, and when I heard it on the radio, I was immediately into it. (It’s pretty Elton John-ish sounding in parts, right? Or is it just me?) However, before I was able to see the video I read a whole lot of hubbub about how controversial it was and, because it involved a bunch of models, I assumed the controversy was due to the ladies getting naked or something. And then I saw the video and realized people weren’t freaking out because the women were taking their clothes off, but because Robbie was taking his skin off. And also feeding his muscles and organs to the voracious roller-skating supermodels. (!!!) Uh, okay then. But oddly enough, I loved it.
I bought a DVD single of the video and brought it home with me back to America and blew my friends’ minds with this piece of celluloid that has probably still never aired on a channel in the United States.
